Forgive me brothers for I have sinned.
Brothers (and sisters),
It is confession time. I have been wearing pants for the last 24 months. The kilts have been hanging in my closet unused and gathering dust.
6 months in India followed by 12 months of constant travel had gotten me out of the habit of strapping on the kilt. It has also gotten me away from this board as frequently as I would like.
Oh, I would pop in now and again to see what was new on the board and to read some of the longer discussions (Such as flat caps with kilts ), but I was just not active. Burns suppers had come and gone, Many a SEKS kilt night was scheduled that I had missed.
But after the last week, I 'think' I am back. So to those of you whom I have not yet met, I look forward to getting to know you. For those of you whom I have missed over the last two years, watch out!
If your curious, I wrote a short essay on this on my blog at McKennon's blog
Mike
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Sometimes, for whatever reason, we all need a big break from even those things we love. You sound quite happy to be kilted again -- I guess the time is "right" again. Enjoy!

The Prodigal Son returns. I am probably new since you left, but welcome back. I sense your presence was probably felt whether you were posting or not during your time away.
Being the Prodigal Son in my family we are likely kindred spirits of a sort.
Speaking of spirits, you definitely need to get back to the kilt night circuit.

Good to be home, I know from whence my mid-east stays- all too long! Except the schwarmas.....and two-man rice.
