It seems appropriate on the eve of Easter Week and of Tartan day that I received the kilt I ordered from J.Higgins, in Clergy Green Tartan by Strathmore Mill. I have a personal aesthetic aversion to white in a tartan, so I wanted this particular version of the Clergy plaid. It also happens to be the same as "Clergy" illustrated in my 1950's edition of Robert Bains' [I]Clans and tartans of Scotland.

I am delighted with the fit and feel of it--absolutely top-notch quality, and at a very reasonable price for a tailored wool kilt. Took about six weeks from ordering to delivery, and I got excellent service and advice for the order over the phone.

I right away wore it for a hike...very comfortable.

Here's a view of the front

And the pleats. They are 3.5" deep, perfectly lined up with the tartan and crisp. Nice "swish" and seat well.

Here's how it looks with a dressier outfit than my hiking duds.

So...I'm very happy with this new kilt, expect to make much use of it, for everything from wooded trails to formal services. Thanks for looking at this thread
