I have a StillWater on it's way...
I came into a little extra cash and decided a woolen kilt was the go (my first!). However, a "little extra cash" does not extend to the likes of most 5-yard wool kilts, let alone an 8-yard one! I very nearly gave up on wool, leaning towards one of Rocky's PV casuals, and then I remembered StillWater...
Well, whaddya know, they have a Shadow Tartan in wool in my size!
Interesting that the completed order page includes the words "Order shipped"...
Wade.

Knowing SWK, it'll be there soon. You'll love it, I have a shadow tartan, and it's a great kilt!

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

I went to the SWK website the other day and before I could click on anything, I noticed the home page said, "Order shipped." Weird.

I tried to buy a Black Stewart heavy on Friday, but SWK was out of stock. New Black Stewart material on the way, I'm told, by the proprietor.

Knowing SWK, it was in the box to be shipped before the order was even completed.

I've ordered two kilts (and 14 casual kilts) from SWK and they were on my doorstep within 3 days. Great ;people there and good stuff. I'd recommend them to anyone so you should be very happy.

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to leave this forum soon.....it's gonna get hard "Keeping Up With The McGregors"....err.....so to speak. Just kidding. I will say that temptation led me to add kilt #3 to my young and budding collection this morning. Kinda crazy when you wake up at 5:25am for no reason and then order a heavyweight wool Green Shadow tartan from SWK at 5:32am. It might be a sickness

Andy - I'll copy this post from Phogfan86 from an earlier thread:
SWK Thrifties are a dangerous, dangerous gateway kilt. I hope you know what you're doing. Of course, you think you can handle it. You'll buy a couple more thrifties. Then, one dark night, a thrifty won't seem like it's enough. So you'll order a standard. Probably Black Watch -- after all, how scary can that be? It's a universal tartan. Everyone does it, right?
But then, that won't be enough, and you'll start looking at casuals and semi-trads at USA Kilts. Every now and then, you'll start sneaking peeks at the websites from across the pond. 16 ounces. 100% wool. Three straps. Belt loops. Fully lined. No, you'll say. I can't. I shouldn't. Then, after awhile, you just won't be able to stop yourself. "Eh, I'll try it just once."
And then you're done. It's over. And you're going to lay there in a pile of your own tartan, wondering how you got here and how your life (and closet) got so out of control.
Trust me. I've been there.
It sounds to me like you are well into the addiction. At least the SWK is a relatively inexpensive way to feed the habit...
