Going to a wedding in the country

My wifes daughter is getting married the weekend after Memorial day in the Shenandoah National Forest. Her fiance belongs to a group that owns the last private land in the forest. 5 cabins 5 miles off the paved road. Wedding party will be formally dressed in Traditional gown and tuxes. As I am just the Mother's second husband, I am considered a guest of the mother of the bride. But I am wearing the kilt. Since the kilt I ordered from Frugal is backordered, they have graciously loaned me a Pride of Scotland kilt. The wedding party will be dressed in shades of purple. We will be leaving home for the wilderness retreat on wednesday, because there is a lot of work to be done at the site. Guess who the worker bee is. Yep , Me. I am taking 3 kilts and will try to be kilted as much as I can during the weekend. I a responsible for the beer. Wewill betaking 2 half kegs. Yingling and Guinness. I hope all here friends are yingling drinkers. Time to just sit back, be quiet and make sure the guinness is ok to drink. I will post pictures from the wedding upon my return to civilisation.

Sounds like a grand time indeed. Be sure to do a lot of sampling to insure the quality of the beer!

Well, the wedding is over and we have returned home. The only place to keep the kegs cool was in the rapidan river. Two of us took the kegs to the river and droppe them in. We then decided that the kids will retreive the beer when the time comes. A lot of work was needed to turn the campground intoa wedding venue. A dance floor was built then covered with a tent. A full tilt sound system was installed along with color bars. Trees were wrapped with LED lighting and several dozen extension cords supplied power the electronics installed. I walked the brides mother to the stage in a Scottish Pride kilt from Frugal Corner. A lot of positive comments about the kilt. It is so amazing how many conversations get started over the kilt. I had an absolute blast. We danced in to the night with the friends of the bride. A lot of people left early because of the road up the mountain and wanted to get down while they could still see. After the music finally died down at 01:00 hrs we lit a campfire and kept going. The only problem with the whole thing was I did not take any pictures because I was so busy. I will have to wait until the official photos come in to show them.

Glad to learn the wedding turned out well and you had a great time. Of course with that bar, a good time was ensured.
