    Jacket Patterns?

Hey all... I'm back at least for a little while... not that I was missed .... lol.

Life has gotten busy in a good but non-kilted sort of way. Promotion at work has kept me out of a lot of things.. but I guess it's not a bad thing.

I have been asked to play pipes at some weddings, and hope to make that more of a steady thing. I have a couple of kilts to get started (in addition to my band uniform), but I believe the jacket is a necessary part of the ensemble. I haven't found a cheaply priced decent jacket and I am sure that even if I did find it, the fit wouldn't be the greatest.

I was wondering if there are patterns available for Prince Charlie or Brian Boro Jackets. Has anyone had a jacket made for them? Was the price comparable to a purchased one? I know it depends upon the seamstress, of course.. but was it worth it?

    Thanks!
    Tom

Have you checked out Alan H's cheap formal wear thread? Lots of ideas and links there!

A few years ago I made a PC from a pattern from Simplicity (?). It was a lot of work. Getting used formal wear is a really good idea.

I have an unopened, uncut Folkwear pattern #152 for a Prince Charlie jacket and vest, chest 36"-48", waist 30"-44". It comes with knitting instructions for argyle socks.

I will sell it for what it cost, $20, and mail it for free. PM me.
