Greetings all,

I am quite sure that this topic has been discussed many times already on XMTS, and before I continue, I apologize for the reiteration. As some of you know, I am very interested in purchasing the lovat green, lovat blue, and fawn colored Balmoral bonnets (leaning towards only the fawn color for the moment-my strongest and first color choice) with dicing, however, I am still somewhat at a crossroads. I am unsure whether or not to order the mentioned Balmorals with the ribbons tied in a bow, or with them loosely, trailing behind. Just to mention again, the men in my clan, the Clan Macpherson, traditionally do not tie their ribbons in a bow. That is why all of my bonnets that I currently own are in that manner-and for the Glengarry bonnets it is rather obvious that the ribbons on that specific style of Highland head dress are never tied in a bow, as I do indeed own two of them. Despite that fact, I have seen many of the lighter colored Balmorals, as well as the darker shades, with their ribbon tails tied in a bow. Now I know it is mainly a matter of personal preference and taste-the myth of tieing you ribbons because you are either a Highlander, or are married, and leaving them untied if you are a Lowlander, or a single lad, is what I just said...only a myth. I rather like the look of the ribbons being tied in a bow with the lighter colored Balmorals, but since I am not accustomed to this, I was curious what advice or input you all would have. I shall leave you to it. Many thanks!

Slainte,
