A Bit of Tartan Evangelising by Yours Truly
Check it out: http://putthison.com/post/391569112/tartans
That's a pretty good site re: men's style as well, in spite of their blatant anti-kilt bias.

That's a shame. It's a good site, otherwise.
I must say, though, I'm a bigger fan of the art of manliness. (They support Kilt Wearing :P)

That makes me wonder if his Irish step-mother was going soft: "sparing the rod and spoiling the child".
The spirit of the Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) abides today, defiantly resisting any tyranny that would disarm, disperse and despoil proud people of just morals, determined to keep the means of protecting their families and way of life close at hand.

I choose option D) I got a large pair and don't really give a toss what people think about my choice of attire.

That's the wonderfully egalitarian thing about the internet...anyone with access to a keyboard and an account can post an opinion; brains and common sense not necessarily required, or in some cases even encouraged. Take it for what it is, just one person's opnion; doesn't affect my day at all!

True. But what really gets my kilt hose in a twist are those who figure that somehow they are in a position to dispense unsolicited fashion advice to others when they are themselves as common as the rest of us, with the exception that podcasting or blogging made them famous. Then all of a sudden everyone listens to them and through the magical powers of fame, they have credibility.
Unlike young Jesse, numerous major fashion design heavyweights like Jean Paul Gaultier and Vivienne Westwood have been big into kilts for years! And if you look at their designs, it's clear that they are neither meant for Scottish weddings, or Highland Games. They probably WOULD cheeze off Thorn's Irish mother though... (Let me just add that Gaultier was putting unbifurcated mens' garments on fashion catwalks when Jesse was still a wee lad in his single digits).
Here's a JPG kilt:

And a VW kilt:

The first one brings to mind sage advice my mother once passed along.
The second one has potential.

If the jumper didn't look like it was pieced together from old rags it'd be a good look. I think a lightweight zip up jumper looks really good with a kilt, I've come across a lot of photos of that sort of outfit recently. I think after I've made 5 or 6 more pairs of socks that'll be my next knitting project.
And re: the put this on guys, their site promotes a pretty specific style of dress, an updated form of American traditional. Obviously the kilt doesn't fit in that style. Yeah, he comes off as a bit of an jerk about it. He does about a lot of stuff. It's something I really dislike about that site. Their premise is dressing like a grown up, seems like maintaining a proffesional demeanor in public would be part of that.

Here's that lightweight jumper look in a more real life setting. I think it works really well. http://www.flickr.com/photos/fotos_b...7619835819810/
