Hullo I have a few questions about kilts.
I'm kind've large at 5'11" I have a rather round tummy, and I've been looking for a while for a kilt, and I'm not quite sure as to where I should have been looking. You see for prom I had ordered a kilt but, somewhere along the lines it got messed up and I never received it, and I was just wondering, where might I find formal attire? I'm looking for a kilt for formal gatherings, to wear at places like proms, dances, and weddings. Could someone lead me to the right place?

Hullo I have a few questions about kilts.
Okay, I am kind've big, and I've been wondering where I could find a formal kilt either to rent or own. I've been searching the web for a while and I found this site and decided to join it. Any help?

For rental, you can probably just look in the local phone book or Google it.
As for purchasing, well, look at all the forum advertisers' links on this page. There are plenty of suppliers.

It's not that easy. I tried a year ago to look all over for a kilt, and it's hard to for me find one. =(

It says you are in West Virginia. What timetable and price point are you looking for? And what waist and hip size are you? There are multiple options, and could use it to narrow you down.
Also, are you set on any particular tartan?

Contact www.atlantakilts.com. Brad Beaton rents by mail, I believe.

Well I don't need it right now. I joined mainly this website, because I liked reading through the forums, and though I should join in the community. Last year I ordered a kilt from Pennsylvania but it never showed up, and so I just canceled my order because they weren't helping me. I was thinking of getting a kilt for myself for formal occasions but I'm not too sure, and by reading some of these things I am definitely not that well educated about kilts. =D

Well, you're in the right spot. I'd highly recommend talking to the vendors from here, we have a variety from low-cost to very highly made, and everything in between. I've bought from many of the vendors here, and cannot recommend any one of them over any other, for they all have given me top notch service.

You're in West Virginia?
If you can, try to attend the West Virginia Highland Games in May, in Bridgeport. There are many vendors and kiltwearers and you'll see and learn a lot. So much better to see everying in person, I think.
I'll be there! Or I should be... I've gone the last two years and I intend on going next year.
In the meantime, X Marks The Scot is the best place to learn about kilts and kiltwearing. You've come to the right place!

Go mountaineers? =P I attend Marshall. So it would be Go Thundering Herd for me. But I would like to attend the Highland games. It is something I've always wanted to see.
