    Warm weather casual kilt socks

    Hi to all,

I just got several pairs of these:

    http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=640488

Inexpensive, well made, nice smooth toe seam. Dark khaki color. I have big calves for which a lot of kilt socks are too small. These are just a tad snug but ok. They're not really set up for a turned-down cuff and flashes but seem like they will stay up very well without garters.

    Thumbs up

    That's a pretty good deal!

Thanks for the tip. I just ordered a pack. Those will probably be great for hiking.

Those do look like a good deal.

Speaking of warm weather kilt hose, I just got in a couple of pair of these:

They're 80% cotton and have a knitted texture. They stretch very well (much more than my legs need), and seem very breathable. And they're tall enough on me to even do a double turn-down if I want.

The model for most of the pictures is female, but some are male, and they're advertised as being great for both men and women.

I like 'em so much, I'm going to order several more pairs of them. They'll be great for wearing both with my kilt and with my dress p@nts at work.

I don't know...I've not had a whole lot of trouble wearing wool socks no matter what the temperature. Maybe I have a broken thermostat or something but it's always easier to wear wool than anything else. Cotton, for lots of reasons, is right out. Going camping or fishing...definitely wool...cotton would be absolute folly. Bamboo is getting to be a contender right now and they're doing some nice, thick crew socks out of bamboo rayon...it'd make a great kilt sock material. Thus far, the kilt hose really only look good in wool, synthetic stuff just doesn't look right.

    cotton kilt hose

These cotton kilt hose were my go to hose last year in the hot sultry summers we have in Virginia. Can't beat the price.

I have been buying from Sportsman's Guide for years. They have been my exclusive source for p@#t's and sh*rts having great prices on many things. I have a pair of hose from Sock Dreams as well and will be getting more from them as the weather continues to warm up.

I'll second the Sock Dreams socks. I have several pair of those, and although the cuff is terrible looking, if you have a pair of hose tops from either Flamingo Kilts or Big Mikey Originals, they make perfect hot weather socks.
