I'm A Published Author
I'm doing a bit of celebrating this week; I have sold a story.
There is a series of books written by Eric Flint called the "1632" series or sometimes the "Ring of Fire" series. In addition to the hardcopy books, there is also an online magazine where authors can contribute stories for the setting. If your story is selected for publication, they even pay you for it. Plus, if your story later go into a hardcopy edition, you get additional royalties.
If anyone is interested, the online magazine is the Grantville Gazette, and my story is called "Solemn Duty."

Congratulations , Dave.....Must be something in the water in Maryland. My wife has just become a published poet and author. Something she has always wanted to do. Congrats to those with an imagination.

It deals with a USE Naval officer delivering a death notification to next of kin.

I don't read many of the Grantville Gazette Stories, but I'll have to look for this one.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
