Local fair - Ballwin Days
They had trucked in some lovely soft sand and built a greeting for us!

There were rides

And all kinds of food

And one lady called Mickey over to flirt with him and tell him how much she liked his kilt....right in front of me. He discreetly took her photo later, pretending he was more interested in the dog than the girl. (She's the older one in the hat)

He got talked into taking a few throws at the dunk tank

I had gotten a purse strap, hoping someone could use it as a sporran strap, but it was far too long. So I went the other way, and used it as a purse strap with an unused sporran.

CGR's nachos. I think you have to be a teenager to be able to ingest something like that.

Mickey walking in the park

A photo of Mickey and I together....which almost never happens

And, I finally managed to catch a little of the swish and sway action I love to watch

Nice pics! I used to attend Ballwin Days...I'm originally from Chesterfield, my family still lives there and was actually there just last weekend for my sister's wedding. I too wore my Highland attire, yet I was at The Scottish Arms, who the owner is a dear friend of mine, as well as most fo the staff! The Arms is the place to go for a proper pint and wee dram in St. Louis - there's nothing like it out in West County, trust me! I have been a 'mover and a shaker' in the Scottish community there in St. Louis for quite some time. Love the pics!
Cheers,

Looks like a fun day! That "blue-tail" deer sporran still cracks me up.

Cheers,
No kidding! We are in Ellisville here. Give a yell if you are ever back in town! Haven't been to the Arms, but it looks like a great place. Will definitely swing by there the next time we are over in that area. Thanks for the tip!

Very nice pics. I love your son's LOZ shirt BTW. You guys should try to make it to the SWMO Celtic Festival in Buffalo, MO this September.

Considering we've driven down to Lebanon just to shop for knives, it doesn't seem out of character for us to drive that far. Sounds like it could be a good way to spend an afternoon. And, CGR will be so pleased someone recognized the symbol on his shirt.
