    Knowing the Jones

On 9-20-11 at 0-dark-thirty I pulled the trigger on a Stillwater Heavyweight in Stewart Black. After clearing the checkout I was (barely) able to resist running to the door to see if it was here. I know it's been less than 40hrs but I'm getting concerned over the well being of the warp squirrels. Yeah, that explains why I'm so anxious

Ordered at four thirty AM on 9-20. It arrived today at 1145hrs. That is
Crazy fast. Jerry's rep is still good to go.
Pics coming, Scottish weekend at the PA Ren Faire. Its a gateway thing.

Great looking kilt, sporran, and belt! Nice acquisition. You wear them well. I particularly like your contrasting hose - a bold choice. Looks good.

You have a beautiful daughter. What a photogenic smile! She's going to be a real heart breaker. Look after her, Dad. She has the perfect outfit for a Ren Faire.

What is the Tartanic show and who is John E. Jaan?

Tartanic is a pipe and drum band out of Houston, Tx. They absolutely kick Bass. The PARF shows feature 2-3 pipers, Bass and Tenor drums (I think) and two lovely dancers. http://tartanic.net/ John is one of the drummers and a heck of a nice guy. My wife and daughter also love them and we've gotten good use out of our season passes. I made my daughter's outfit two weeks ago because she wanted her own kit. I like to think the blue hose picked up the blue in the tartan while contrasting enough to tone down any Matchy-Matchy effect from the shirt picking out the red in the tartan.

What a great gift for your daughter! It's a lovely historical-looking dress. I wish I could sew. I couldn't make a handkerchief, if my life depended on it. I'm struggling now to learn how the press kilt pleats.

Thanks for the link to Tartanic. I had not heard of them. I listened to a couple of their songs - rousing! I'll try to attend one of their shows, if they ever play out west, eg the Pleasanton Games.

For your amusement I have attached a picture of my son and me at my nephew's Scottish wedding. I'm wearing a Blaylock Hunting (family tartan) and my son a Douglas (WCWM). Douglas is our clan.

Wow, you giys look great. I never go anywhere formal so I havn't a reason for that sort of kit, I'd feel a little off getting that dressed up but you two look as natural as daylight. Some people look costumey in diced hose but your son makes them look good. Hope you guys had a good time.

As for the band, their shows are as lively as the music. The guys told me they were heading for the Texas Ren faire after they finish here next weekend. I'm gonna mis that cause were going to freaking Disney Word for 10 days. ( I know, outrageous)

I sprung the new kilt on my wife on Saturday. She was not happy at the suprise at first then warmed nicely as she watched the power of the kilt work it's magic, even in a kilt saturated environment. She even assented to me taking my Amerikilt to Gatorville to see Mikie Rat.
