Snowshoe for the Haggis
Vancouver's Fat *** adventure club hosted a snowshoe for the haggis. As many of you know.... the WestCoast Haggis enters its hibernation a few weeks after Robbie Burns day. We had hoped to have a last sighting of the elusive Haggis before its slumber. This turned out to be a daunting task since the Haggis moves to higher elevations and is its winter plumage. Five brave folks started the assent of Mount Seymore from the Vancouver side. Rumors swirled that the Haggis had been seen near the first pump, suicide ridge and the near by Dog Mountain - all had to be explored!
On the way to first pump - about one hour into the steady up hill climb - I thought I heard the bagpipe like squeal of the wild haggis - no time to waste.
