Denim kilt, tired of Jonesing.
Hey Rabble,
Like the title says, I have grown tired of jonesing after unbifurcated male garments and finally ordered my first denim kilt from UnionKilts. I've wanted a denim kilt for a while; they look comfortable, they look cool but not overly so, and I think one would be a good way to move me into wearing kilts part time. Doubt that it would fly for casual Fridays since my office doesn't have casual Fridays, but I can ask for forgiveness once right? Pictures of the Denim UnionKilt will be posted once it arrives.
Don't get me wrong, my heart is still set on the Elliot tartan (and some of my other lines in time), but I am going to wait till September to order one. Not sure how long it will take to come in so the denim and my utilikilt will have to tide me over till then.
I have a sewing machine too so in the long run either I need to learn to sew (home economics was a required class in 7th grade for both genders, want to guess how many years ago I was in middle school?) or this will rapidly become a very expensive hobby.

I think you have misunderstood the meaning of "jonesing" when applied to kilts. "Jonseing" is not simply wanting a kilt very much, but in fact "jonesing" is applied to the difference in time between your order and actually having the item you ordered in your hand. This may be short if it's a stock item and ordered close to home or verrrrrrrrrrrry long if it's custom built (bespoke) with custom materiel and made far away.

Very well, call it tired of waiting patiently then. My understanding of that term wasn't complete I guess. However, since the order is now placed, can I say I am jonesing now? Using slang you are unfamilar with is always chancy.

AH, yes! Once you have ordered something then, obviously, you will have the dubious pleasure of "jonseing".

This sounds like a sensible choice for a value for money denim kilt.
I have the Union Kilts denim in the darker blue and also the now discontinued light blue. Both of these are very comfortable garments which have received many positive comments.

Kilt update
Okay, this is my third try at this status update.
Still jonesing for my denim UnionKilt. They just sent a status update early this morning/late morning UK - Processing. Alas, only processing. :-( I want my denim kilt. I want my denim kilt! Sigh, patience is called for.
Also, I attended my first Highland Games today, although not kilted. The border colie demonstration was nice, but a bit lacking in action. Upside, I got to meet my cousin from Kentucky and place an order for a kilt in THE ELLIOT(T) TARTAN!!!!! Yes, super excited to finally place this order. I decided on Elliot ancient since I liked the look and it is easier for me to see the red stripe when the blue is a lighter shade. So is this now a double jonesing thread?
Double jonesing, dougble jonesing, double jonesing!
Yes Malcom, that was me at the Scottish Trading Company tent.

Who did you order your Elliot ancient from?
Everything in excess! To enjoy the flavor of life, take big bites. Moderation is for monks. From the note books of Lazurus Long aka: Woodrow Wilson Smith

Adam go down to your local Joann Fabrics, 10368 Festival Ln, and check about sewing classes. If I can do it at 63, it can't be that hard.
I was in one Joann's looking at plaid fabric and the sales lady asked me, a male, if I sewed or was it for my wife. I told her it was for me and my wife doesn't sew. I told the sales lady that I was sewing a kilt. She said that she used to sew kilts and we talked for a while on the subject.
Welcome to the addiction.
