Could a kilt be worn with a Nehru jacket?

This one's mainly for the "contemp" forum crowd.

Just the gears turning... Having some random thoughts and pondering new styles and ways to wear a kilt. Anyone suppose that a Nehru jacket, or perhaps just a jacket with a Mandarin collar could be altered to be worn with a kilt? We've all seen standard suit jacket --> kilt jacket conversions by shortening the bottom. But I wonder how it would look if it were done with something like this photo shows. (Not necessarily in white, though).
