    Cool Heritage of Scotland

I don't know if it's kosher to pass along word of sales, but Heritage of Scotland is having an anniversary sale and their casual, PV kilts are priced 30% off. That's like 25 pounds, which comes out to about $40 USD. I have one of their PV in the house tartan; it's got a nice weight and construction, very good for knocking about, especially at that price point. I ordered a PV in Gunn modern, some claret hose and other bits and bobs. If you go over 50 pounds, shipping to the States is free. Couple of kilts would get you there. If this message is inappropriate--mods, just take it down.

I'd love to take advantage, but I just took care of my kilting budget on their recent BOGO offer (Freedom and Scottish National).

I have 2 things to say about Heritage of Scotland / Gold Brothers
-1 The off the rack items I have purchased were OK
-2 Kilts made to order ... DON'T DO IT ... There is not enough room on this page for my frothing rant..
I purchased a bespoke kilt and was very dissatisfied with the garment I was sent. I should have listened to the good advice offered by this community regarding the Gold Brothers / John Morrison group and saved my money and consternation.
When I documented the poor quality of the kilt with photos demonstrating that there was no straight horizontal element across the pleat EVERY line being saw tooth ...the selvedge was a saw tooth ... the quality of the stitch work changing dramatically 1/2 across the garment ... that the pleat to the set while starting on the right did not complete across to the left...(customer service told me that some tartans could not be pleated to the set). I was told that there was nothing wrong with quality the garment as far as the company was concerned.
PM me and I will give you names of service reps to avoid should you exercise poor judgement as I did trying to save a buck.
I sent the kilt back at my expense and it was restitched so I now have the most expensive kilt in the world in my possession. I tell teh story of who not to order from when I wear it

I have two off the peg PVs which were around £35 and are OK.

Of the two marked to measure kilts I have, one is one of the many grey tartans (£120) and is a lovely kilt and I have been wearing hell out of it in Scotland this week with no ill effects. The other is loud Macleod (£165) and my complaint is that it was supposed to be 13 Oz but is really 10 Oz. I meant to complain but it is so nice to wear, especially in hot weather.

My view is there is no such thing as a bargain but HoS offer fair value

I may be mistaken but I believe that it was Ron "Riverkilt" who put it this way in a thread a while back, "you can have two of the following: price, quality, or customer service."

For what it is worth, I have always had value for money from Heritage of Scotland.
