Articles
I am getting ready to add an articles section to the website. It will be entirely consisting of articles written by our members.
Can anyone think of a few topics that you think would help newcomers and those in search of Kilted Enlightenment?
If you have ideas let me know...

I have always enjoyed reading the HISTORY of something. Whether it be your clan, tartan, a phrase or a beer.
also what about some info about the areas we are all from? Maybe some points of intrest would generate some totally wicked road trips. I am always looking for a summer trip.
anyway I am on a typing frenzie today and I will respond to aything.....

I agree, history is the go, and perhaps 'testimonies' from first time in a kilt members. They could be collected from posts here.

Any "how to" articles that are kilt related would be good as well.

This is an excellent idea. Would these be a permanent post? What about a separate authors avatar? What about a minimum / maximum length? The ability to add images? Any topic that advises, instructs, assists, entertains, generates interest, or otherwise educates should be fine. Opinions and editorials should be restricted to non confrontational topics. Perhaps a preliminary submission and review process might be in order. Just a thought.

I'd love to read some how-to articles, preferably with photos, from Bubba, Richard Johnson and some other folks who have made their own kilts.
BTW, what is wrong with a little polite controversy? I don't like flame wars any better than anyone else, but a bit of disagreement makes things more interesting. Being totally non-controversial all the time is a crashing bore.
I don't mean that anyone could post an article without any restrictions. After all, this is Hank's site and we must play by his rules. Any articles should be submitted to him for acceptance, rejection, or editing (with the author's agreement).

I would not mind a "makers forum" or something like that that shares info from people that have and or are making kilts. history is very cool as well. I have quickly found this becoming more and more of a one stop place to find info on kilts and all things pertaining.

You could make a list of names of those that would be willing to contribute, and assign them to write articles on topics that come up.
You could also have an Ask Graham column, where people get lifestyle advice from him, or give him riddles or something ;).
