    highland games review

    Hello the learned rabble,

Wanting to get to a games in Scotland next year but not sure which one to take my family to. Toss up between Lonach (they would like to.do.some celeb spotting while I watch the bands!) or our clan games Cowall? Any thoughts, they would also appreciate some stalls and a few rides to.keep them entertained between bands and competitions.

Both are worth visiting Gazbot. Lonach is a bit more up-market in terms of stalls and includes the dramatic march of the Lonach Men. Cowall stalls tend to be a bit more down-market but there is a wider range of activelties and entertainment, including things for children. Sadly the march of the bands through the town at the end of the games is a shadow if what it used to be ... the local authority now charges bands for the privilege.
