Stupid lederhosen...
So we're going to the German festival yesterday and today, and my darling husband picks up a pair of lederhosen. Wonderful. He spent his 'new kilt' money on these fancy suede lederhosen, and they look handsome and all, but now I'm faced with this dilemma...
I was able to get him an Amerikilt based on his jeans size- and I'll be making him a casual kilt as soon as the twill comes in so I'll have his measurements handy. I have little money tucked away, so I'm thinking this would make a nice Christmas present, since I know the tartan he wants.
I just wanted your opinion on whether getting someone a traditional kilt as a surprise is a good or bad idea.

As long as you have the proper measurements I think it's a GREAT idea.

As a long time Ren and Stimpy fan, I must ask, do you plan to stuff his lederhosen with rancid sourkraut?

Well, I told him when I make him the gray kilt, I'll make him some suspenders with chest strap to go along with it. Then he can get the feathered hat and embriodered shirt, wear his kilt hose and boots, and really be half Scottish, half German!

Definitely go for the kilt. Maybe it will help make up for the lederhosen.

IF my lady stitched me up a traditional kilt...ANY kilt, I would A.) faint, B.) Rejoice, mightily, and I mean MIGHTILY.
Go for it.
