Should Batman use a Sporran?
This question is based on a picture that appeared on a Batman cover many years ago. In it, he is wearing a kilt with sporran (long furry one) AND a utility belt. As a "dress sporran" is virtually useless, practically, and there only for looks and as weight, he would need his belt with this one.
Now that your here, this leads to a serious question. On more than one thread there have been discussions upon different ways people carry things. I was curious, for the wearers of different style kilts,-
Why Batman-> in another thread someone said too many pouches would make one look too much like Batman.
Because some people need to carry a lot of stuff, what would be a "good" solution?
Do you wear a sporran with your kilt and why?
If you don't use one, what do you carry your stuff in? (namely keys, walet, cell phone, etc)
Here are the options from what I can tell:
-Traditional sporran (usually leather) of various types, and of various usefullness with Buzz's sporrans examples of useful ones.
-a "fanny pack"/"waist pack"/"cheap straped waist pouch"
-a vest or jacket and no sporran (use the pockets to hold crap
-modern sporran, such as Stillwater Kilts nylon one
-nothing but kilt and shirt (plus shoes of some sort)
What do you do?
what are advantages and disadvantages?
How is it functionally?
What about looks/style?
Does a kilts sans sporran look too "skirt-like?"
Thus far, I have ALWAYS used a sporran. It looks good, traditional, practical, and is a good weight to keep the front flaps down (preventing accidental "flashing"). Now, without one, I feel as if something is missing.
What do y'all think?
