What to do, what to do .........

Okay, here is my dilemma. I just received 4 metres of double width, 18 oz MacKenzie Modern that I got for a very good price. I can either use all of it for an 8yd knife pleat or use half for a box pleat and sell the other half. The first would allow me to get a great, heavy weight, handsewn for a really reasonable cost while the second would give me a kilt I could wear longer during the year and be able to get a friend of mine in one as well.

Decisions, decisions ........

What kilts do you have now? Would this be your first tank? It would be great to "share the wealth," but if you had been jonesing for your first tank, that might change the equation.

I think you should take the selfish route and make yourself an 8 yard knife pleat, because what if you give your friend have of the material and he doesn't like wearing (god forbid) the Kilt .

I say go for the 8 yarder if you do not have one. If you do then make 2 box pleated kilts.
