    Deer antler kilt pin

I ordered up some artificial jade for the two sgian dubhs I am making (See that thread http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=26498)

Thought it would be interesting to see how it polishes up before I finish the blades. So I glued an offcut onto an antler tip, ground it to shape on a belt sander then used 320, 400 grit paper and 600 grit wet/dry. Finally polished with a felt wheel and polishing compound on my Dremel tool. Here's the finished look. Still have to add two 1/4 in rare earth magnets to the back for fastening without a pin.

Pin is 3 3/4" overall and 1" across the widest part of the top.

In a democracy it's your vote that counts; in feudalism, it's your Count that votes.
