I just love a day when both USPS and UPS visit my door. Lately, there's been alot of that.

two weeks ago the kilt jacket I bought from David Pope (J. Higgins the maker) arrived. Perfect fit, black wool.

Last week my SWK green heavy came. Very nice complement to the saffron, I must say.

Two days ago I got a package from Hamilton Dry Goods. 6 pairs of kilt hose (although the red and black ones are constrictive at the top and have to be returned). One pirate shirt (lace-up placket like a jacobite but a band collar. Soft soft cotton. Easy to dye. Ron also sent a pair of oatmeal cable-knits that go abot 6 inches above the knee and give three good turn-downs. Value for quality and comfort, his cotton kilt hole are about the best think going. everyone should try them at 3 pair for $20. I bought 2 of the natural rib-knit as well and plan to dye them.

Today I received two ebay purchases. 4 yards of Campbell Ancient from House of Edgar. The ebay listing said it was 13 oz, but I swear it's 16 oz. I hefted it next to my IOS tank, and the IOS felt a bit lighter (less pleat cut-outs and center strip, I guess). I was gonna use it as a great kilt for a while, but now... hmmm.

Today's second purchase was these two fellas.

Sometime before the weekend, (Fedex Ground from CA permitting) I should take delivery of this ebay item. An 8-yarder of Lochcarron 16-oz in the Davidson tartan. The waist and length should be good, but boy I hope the hips fit, or I'll be looking for all the Davidsons out there to make me an offer.



I don't know how long it takes to ship from Vancouver BC, but I ordered three yards of the damaged X-Marks Tartan and 4 of the poly-wool Douglas (for a great kilt). The X-Marks tartan will mostly go to sporran flaps and other small projects. Gordon Kirkbright was easy and excellent to work with.

Weel, I think that's the lot. I think all these medium to smaller purchases are my way of staving off the jones of waiting out MAtt's list to get a Gordon Weathered box pleat. Hopefully before the Grandfather Mountain Games.
