    MacQueen Tartan Kilts

The Egypt Shriner's Highlanders Pipe and Drum Band, after seeing the quality of Frugal Corner's 16 oz. kilts. We have decided to have Mark order the weaving of the MacQueen Tartan. After which he will begin making kilts for the band members and families. So, if anyone is interested in a MacQueen kilt call Mark at Frugal Corner, he will also be stocking kilts for us pleated by the stripe.

This is my present 100% wool tank.

Is the band going to give up wearing the wool kilts? I feel fairly confident that the synthetic blend stuff that Frugal Corners kilts are made from will have a signifigant enough color difference to be noticeable side-by-side your wool kilt.

I doubt there will be that much color difference.

    Tattoobradley,

The present band members are not giving up thier 100% wool tanks, These kilts from Frugal Corner are mainly for new member to cut the cost of the uniforms by several hundred dollars, for spouses and family members that want to match the band at social functions without spending a small fortune and new Social members. Also some present members think that since these Frugal Corner kilts are lighter they would made good summer parade kilts since we a in Florida and for the price of a custom at $81.00 it could be affordable for everyone to purchase a new kilt.

As for the question about differences, I have four MacQueen Kilt that I recieved from old members. Each one is defference one has 7" setts, one has 5 1/4" setts, and two has 5" setts, and the material span over 30 years. So there is a slit difference already.
