A Gordon!
I just want to know how many Gordons there are on the boards. I can never keep us straight. So yeah, what sept and whether it's maternal of paternal if you want.
I'm Gordon though my dad, sept Long, which came from Laing in Aberdeenshire.

My paternal grandmother was Alta Maud Muir, and we are a sept of the Gordons. There is a movement afoot to get the Lord Lion to re-instate Clan Muir.

Gordon on my mother's side. GGGrandmother Mary Gordon Willis. Gordons in Virginia by way of County Down in 1750-ish, by way of Aberdeenshire 1650-ish.
Mary Gordon's pedigree
Convener, Georgia Chapter, House of Gordon (Boss H.O.G.)
Where 4 Scotsmen gather there'll usually be a fifth.

I was at one time a member of the House of Gordon, sept Moore. However recent research revealed my Moore's (O'More's) were Irish (Antrim) & (briefly) Glasgow area Scots. On the Scots side from near the territories of the Muirs, thus I've since joined the Muir Clan society.
My cousin, however, still claims the Gordons, has a Gordon tattoo & kilt (though he's not on this forum, yet!)

Aren't the Moore's (etc) also claimed by the Campbell's?

On my fathers side. My last name was originally either Eadie or Addie (it shows up both ways in documents) and we know the first one was in North America in the late 1600's but haven't found much else about him.

I am a Gordon on my mother's side of the family. In fact, Gordon is my middle name.
