Helping a Scot get into a kilt
I dont normally post on my encounters while wearing a kilt but this one was new to me, but definetly not unique to this board. I walked into the free lunch held by the Baptist Student organization on campus and I heard someone yell "KILT." I looked around casually and the source of the commotion approched me. He was a gent about my age and the first thing he asked was if my kilt was "affordable." Being that it was my Stillwater (I had chem lab, HCL+kilt= angry Scotsman) I told him it was an affordable kilt, but that it was by no means the "real deal." He was very interested in getting into something similar so I gave him a quick lesson on highland dress and then gave him the address to SWK as well as Xmarks and my handle here. It was a rewarding experience. I also had a bunch of positive comments as well as one puny punk that called it a "dress." I simply asked him if he would like to have a guy in a "dress" kick is butt when he insisted on calling it that. I can take skirt and man skirt but I draw the lline on dress. Anyway, its been a fun kilted outing.
