Frugal Corner material
Has anyone ordered fabric from Frugal Corner? If you did, what was the width of the material. Red_Raven_Studios wants to make something to match my FC kilt. It calls for 45" width material.

Are they still in business? They've owed me a kilt for almost a year now...
- No responses to my emails for the past month (all 3 addresses)
- Their website still has their February specials listed (but some of the pictures are no longer working)
- Their Online Inventory doesn't appear to be updating
- Their live help is NEVER online

I'm wondering the same thing Casper. I've been waiting on a replacement kilt for a first kilt from way back that never fit right. I ordered a new one and was sent one 2 sizes too big, they agreed to replace it w/ a "custom kilt". That was back in early December. I've sent messages to Mark B. multiple times over the last month and a half and haven't heard a peep. Great business practices keep stacking up for this company (sarcasm can be heard all the way in Scotland)

I had an e-mail from them this week saying my kilt was shipped. I should have next week. Will let you all know when it arrives.

All of which is nice, but it has nothing to do with my question.

They are definately still around. I emailed them late Friday night and got a reply within the hour. I then ordered a few kilts and they just came in today.

I don't see why it wouldn't be double-width fabric. I haven't ordered the material yet but I am considering it. If you do order some, post up a review.

I've ordered material from them, and it was "double width". I ordered the 13 ounce stuff and it was very light, nowhere near the same weight as 13 ounce well. It's the stuff I made Pastor Nans stole out of, also a highlighted inner pleat for a pleated skirt for a friend.
I'd never make a kilt out of the stuff, but it's OK for light stuff, maybe for a vest or something.

It'll do very well for that purpose, though I'd line the vest with something more tightly structured to take the "stretch" loads of wearing the garment. The weave on Frugal Corners material is very light. I'd also unhesitatingly buy a yard for a sash for a woman to wear. I'd use it for a tartan banner for the clan tent. I'd use it for a tartan tablecloth for the clan tent. I'd use their 13 ounce tartan for a tartan highlight on all sorts of things, like maybe a glengarry. I'd use it for a tartan background inside a picture frame, I'd use it for a pastors stole ...there are dozens of things this stuff is good for and it's not terribly expensive.
Frugal Corner was quite prompt at mailing the stuff out to me, too.
