If you have seen my pics you will notice than I hardly have any evidence of hair on my head. I have typical male patterned baldness. I do not use a razor on my head, however, I keep my hair length to a fine stubble for simplicity. Just a few minutes ago I was cutting my hair with electric clippers. I was wearing my SWK Economy Mackenzie kilt which has become sort of my catch all around the house casual and work kilt. With this kilt being made of acrylic and having some pretty tough use it has a lot of pilling on the apron. While clipping my hair over the waste basket I looked down at the apron and though about trying the clippers on the kilt. Guess what….it works great!!! I was looking at purchasing a ‘sweater shaver’, but everyone that I have seen looks really cheap. Also, every one of these that I have seen uses batteries and I would rather have a corded type (if it exists).
I do not know…perhaps a sweater shaver might do a better job, however, I am very pleased with the results of the clippers that I already have. I don’t think that I would use the clippers on my wool sweaters, but I am please with the results on the kilt.
If you have pilling on a kilt and you have electric hair clippers give a try. Just be mindful of the angle of the clipper teeth to the fabric so that you do snag or dig into the material.
