Well, today was my last day at HP. Something that is both sad and very happy. As usual in most sales groups, you are either walked out when you give notice or early on your last day. My manager indicated that it wouldn't be very early. I had the cure for that.

****please note, what comes next is just for information, NOT a rant or a wish for a rant from other members****

HP has casual Fridays where we are allowed out of the business casual for a change. Last week, since I was leaving, I decided to wear my Livingston kilt. Wore it with a tan button shirt, hose to match and casual wing tips. Two minutes after he came in my manager sent me home to change "I can see it causing problems." Every one told me I should go to HR but, since I was leaving the company I just went with it even though I knew I would win. Fast forward to today. Same kilt, black hose with the casual wingtips and a black HP polo shirt. He made a point to stop and look on the way in. His comment at that point was "Looks like you'll be leaving fairly early." So, at about 9 he tells me to make my last rounds and that at 9:30 it was time to leave.

Do I know how to turn a long boring day into a short one or what!?!

Now I can relax all day and start getting ready for the new job in a week. Love it when a plan comes together.
