St. Patrick's day in Bayern (Germany)
No parade in this part of Bavaria (Germany name is Bayern) today, but I was invited to join a group of guys for dinner at a small restaurant in the area called Bayrish Irish. The husband is Irish and his wife (pic to follow below) is native to Bayern. (The y in Bayern, Bayrish is pronounced like the letter i )
I had beef based Irish Stew and it was excellent. About four cups of food.
I was driving, so no alcoholic beverages tonight.
Here is a pic of the proprietess and I:

The kilt was something I acquired off ebay a few years ago before I knew of the knock-offs of the HOE Irelands National. The colors are just a bit brighter. The sporran and belt pouch I made, and the sweat shirt comes from the University of Missouri at Rolla, now known as the Missouri University of Science and Technology. My son works there and he and I are both alumni.
She and another young lady did some step dancing and afterwards her husband played and sang a few tunes.
All and all a relaxing evening.
Hope others found ways to enjoy the day/evening.
Tom

Tom, I envy you. I've been to some great parties in Germany. A great place to let your hair down. Shame you had to drive though!

Sounds like a wonderful time. Some of the best parties I have been to are small ones!

A night in Bayern without Bier? Is that allowed???
Better to be safe though, for sure! Too bad you had to drive.

Tom,
Good for you. I am enjoying a rare dram of Scotch on this special day. People were surprised I was not kilted today after work.
The Little Apple Brewery put on a nice show with a three piece Irish band, will post pictures later, must enjoy my drink now.

Sounds like a good meal and good company. A hard combination to beat.
