Snow melted=first full practice with "The Beast"-with pics!
Snow finally all melted so on a perfect sunny day it was time to finally get to a full practice. Suprised myself by hitting 25's repeatedly with the Braemar and stayed around 60 with the 16 hammer. Hope this is a good sign for the upcoming summer.
I also finally got to get out my new practice caber--"the beast". It's a hacked on pressure treated 8X8-shaved a bit to knock off the corners-- that I made just to practice picking. I can turn most cabers I can pick, but with my knee still coming back, picking can be a challenge--so I decided to make a caber that really beat on me to pick. This thing weighs about 115 lbs--and feels 'dead' becuse there's no taper.
Can't wait to start--May 2nd I'll be in Knoxville! Hope all your practices are going well--and those of you already in competition--good luck!
