Working Kilted, and I almost forget...
... to mention it here, haha.
Actually i got my kilt Tuesday evening, and the very next day (there was no real need to put it off) I wore it wednesday to work! Wear I only had for a shiort time and still in getting used to it phase (I had only worn a kilt for 6 hours at that point, ever, haha), I was a bit nervous but I persevered and I have to say, it went well. As a side note I told my roomate that i was wearing it to work the next day and he goes "Oh my god you're going to embarrass yourself" to which i replied "No Ron, you'd embarrass yourself wearing one, because you don't have the balls to wear one" :P
Something.,.interesting happened though in retrospect. Many men really liked it, they thought that was very cool, one guy said "you look very cultural", I was ok with that, haha. Actually the first person to ask me "the question" was a guy too! Did not see that coming. Anywho, I noticed very few women noticing it verbally anyways, many smiles and second looks, though the one that really did was like "heeey looking snazzy!", Someone else screamed "Nice Skirt!!"...though i am not sure who, haha. All in and all it was a good experience, and they are comfortable to work in... since I have a sit down job, I am very good at the process of sitting down sweeping one's pleats in a very short time.
So then yesterday, I wore pants again (which oddly felt different, unusual) and I had all these women telling me they really liked it! It's like once I wore pants again they could approach me, haha. I really think I threw people for a loop... but the concensus was good. The one that really stook at with me is this little older french woman we have working there, you know from Quebec and all... she mentions to me "last night I didn't say anything but honestly you really wear that well, you have the style for it, it looks excellent!" and then proceeded to ask me a bunch of questions about it.
So all and all, a really good experience!! I started a buzz too, people who didn't see it have asked me about it, and many people have asked when i am wearing it again :P
Of course I keep you all informed... and another positive experience.

Good on ya laddie, sounds as though ya had a good day of it. Never mind those who make the snide remarks from afar, they don't have the nerve to make them ta your face, so they show they're bravery from a distance.
The more ya weare it the more the lassie's will notice ya, and talk to ya about it.
Well done. KILT ON!

I too was wearing my kilt last night. It was the opening night of our new play, and I got pressed in to Usher duty at the last minute. I was a little shocked when the president of our college walked in. She didn't say anything, but I'm wondering if we will get a memo on monday. (Our president is new, and I'm not sure our previous president was aware we had a theatre department, which is why I didn't expect to see her there).
Anyway, the cast and crew thought I looked fabulous in my kilt, and prince charlie etc.
Over all, kilts at work are great for comfort and promoting cultural diversity. So Ziggy, don't wait too long to kilt again.
Cheers

Excellent reply to your room mate. I've found if you wear it and act like it is normal and walk confidently, you'll get positive remarks or eventually noone will notice the kilt. Way to go.

As you get more used to wearing the kilt, you will not be paying attention to it as it will be your natural clothing. THAT is when the confidence will be in place to draw a lot of positive vibes, especially from the lasses. As a new wearer you are paying attention to it and that is kind of noticeable to others. As the "newness" wears off the confidence builds.
