    Irish Mandolin in VA?

Does anyone know of any mandolinists (mandolinites?) in the Shenandoah Valley? Preferably close to Harrisonburg...

I've got a mandolin and want to take lessons. There are a number of bluegrass and old time musicians out here, but no sessions that I've stumbled across.

    Go raibh math agat!

Out on Rte 11, sort of mid-way between H'burg and Staunton, just past Rocky's Gold & Silver shop on the right hand side of the road, is a little antique/junk mini-strip mall that is open Thurs-Sun. At one end of the building is a store selling-- you guessed it-- mandolines. I think the owner is named Jerry, and I do believe he gives lessons.

    Slan, agus beannacht De!

post script--if you are coming down that far, just keep heading south and we'll meet up in Staunton.

Thanks! I'll have to drive down and check this place out. If nothing else, it sounds like it would be worth a visit. The Stone is right off 11 too, so it's quite easy to get to as well.

I'll definitely send you a message before driving down!
