    Rev-K kilt DIY

Finally found time to take some photos of my new kilt. Material is PV in black with golden threads running without any pattern. I had to cut material and re-saw it to get those golden lines going vertically. Pleats are rev-K and I added two slit pockets. Closure is made with additional material sawn to right edge of apron with two button holes on it. There are two buttons on the side to close the kilt.

On photos the golden threads are almost invisible, but they are really adding some “life” to dull black.

    Regards to all!

Nice job Mipi. Did you put the pocket in the first deep pleat? I'm making my first slash pockets too. I think I'm over-complicating them, but it's a learning process.

    Hi Dale!

I placed pockets in first true pleat (on the left) and in the last (on the right) pleat. Reverse K enabled me to do this. I think if you put pockets in deep pleats, then you'll end up with bulk in front apron, when putting something into pockets. I can notice this bulk even in my case if placing too much items into pocket.

Pockets are placed just below the fell line and are really deep. I think I made them rather well (for first try).

You can find good photo “how to” on those pockets somewhere here.

    Regards.
