On this snowy day we celebrated Epiphany

For this we prepared special shortbreads, the famous “galette des rois”, a cake traditionally eaten on Twelfth Night inside of which you will find a miniature figurine that will entitle you to be king or queen for the day.

We also decorate a wooden log with tartan, place upon it salt, the contents of a tiny glass of wine, and bread. This log shall be placed in the fire by the eldest and youngest member of the family

Time to celebrate !

To determine who shall be crowned, The youngest goes under the table. Since it was Evangéline's first time, Louise gave her some help and support.
Then I call: “Phebe!”
They anwser: “Domine!”
I ask: “For whom this piece ?”
And they designate a family member. Once everyone's name has been said and every plate served, they come out from under the table and rejoice !
