I wish there was a sight like this when I was kilt research in the early 90's. That is when I found out that my grandfather was a piper for the Mason's in Florida during the 50's. He still had his pipes, kilt, sporran, and glengarry. Unfortunately the were in a cardboard box in the attic so the wool was a bit moth-eaten and the leather in the pipes was dry-rotted. I still remember the day he brought all of that out along with some pictures he had posed for. From that day forward, I was hooked. Two years later he passed away. I am in the process of getting his piping stuff mounted in a glass case for my mother.
Anyway, I have been wearing a kilt occasionally since 1996. It is a modern MacDonald tartan I bought from J. Higgins. My wife says I should wear it all of the time. We'll see.
Just wanted to give a friendly hello and a little background of how I came to love kilts.
