    Thumbs up New outfit

I had a wedding to go to. My nephew was getting married and I just couldn't help but wear a kilt. Of course, I didn't have the right outfit and accessories to do the wedding justice. I contacted Turpin and asked if he would do a skunk sporran. I also wanted a kilt in the Chattan tartan which was a federation of clans and it is now represented by MacPherson. I couldn't go to a wedding without a plaid. Turpin go to work on the sporran, and I got to work on the kilt and plaid.

    Thank you Turpin,

    and the plaid before purling:

    Cheers,

and very nice it looks on you! Chattan can either look terrific (as in your photos) or just off-color. There was a kilt my size for sale cheap here a while back, but the colors in the photo worried me. Google

As a point of interest, Clan Chattan IS a confederation of Clans, and I believe, has the oldest continuously active clan society of any (Thistledown can correct me if I'm mistaken as he is on the board). The clan has its own (Mackintosh) chief, who at this time has opted not to be active, so the Chiefs of the constituent clans (including Macpherson) work together instead.

Looking good, Wallace, but a little correction if I may. The Clan Chattan was always -- and still is -- headed by the Mackintoshes, not the Macphersons. Today the Clan Chattan chief is Mackintosh of Torcastle. After the Mackintoshes the Macphersons are, however, the most important constituent clan in the confederation.

Thanks for the corrections on the Chattan federation. I so hope the kilt, plaid, and sporran are as nice as I think they are.

    Let me know,

Yes, very nice, Wallace. I'm sure we would all love to see a pleat shot, too.

Wally, very nice look. I'm assuming the fellow on your left is your brother? You look alike.
