Ladies and Gentlemen, meet the Jones!

Finally! after jonesing for a good 2 months from the day my new kilt has arrived! this will be a topic to post some pictures and also as a review of A.S. Campbell Kilt Company.

First up is the review of A.S. Campbell. the ordering was easy right off their website and the prices were very affordable.
    Order placed = 7/21
    Kilt Shipped = 8/30
    Kilt arrived = 9/23
The Kilt was shipped in a sturdy plastic bag along with a manila bubble wrap envelope containing the belt, buckle and flashes.

i would've preferred a box or something more rigid but the bag was very strong; i couldn't rip it had to cut it open. A.S. Campbell had excellent customer service, and always responded to every email that i sent. the fit was perfect in every way, the belt i could've gone one size down on, they had small medium and large belts, i got a medium and should've gotten a small. the belt is a Velcro adjustment and I'm just at the end of the Velcro on the medium (32" waist).

Okay now on to the good stuff! i figured the only real way of seeing all this was if i went all out and put on everything that i would be wearing for my wedding, which was the reason of purchasing the kilt! Although I was alone so all i had was my full length mirror to help take pictures and some are blurry. I told the wife-to-be that since i could not see her in her dress before the wedding she could not see my kilt before the wedding either, i thought it was only fair (although its going to be really hard to do) so here i am in full prince charlie with my mew MacPherson Dress Kilt!

here is the kilt right out of the shipping bag..

Layed out flat.. pleated to sett..

    pleats about 2 1/4 inches..

My black calf hair sporran that I got at a highland games

the kilt is a 2 buckle closure, so only 1 buckle on each hip

here is the belt buckle that I also got

I love how they cut the flashes, they obviously took time on them, instead of just using scraps

the bow tie I got from the Scotland kilt company, in matching tartan

and a nice close up of the tartan

All in all I am super pleased with my order from A.S. Campbell LTD and would recommend them for anyone else in the market, although it does appear that their prices have gone up just a bit from after I placed my order. And can’t wait to wear it in June for my wedding! And for those who may have noticed that my sporran is too low, well its the first time i tried it on and its way to big so im going to have to remove some of the links to get it where it needs to be. Thanks for looking every one!

Truly awesome! Congrats on your nuptials.

Somebody has to be the heavy

As a bridegroom, you are entitled to make what few decisions your bride allows without anyone else calling them into question, but I will just point out that many kilt wearers consider the matching tartan tie to be a little bit much.

As I say, you are entitled to your own choices and nobody much will question them, but if some guy posted a "critique my outfit" picture, some meanie would probably advise against it.

The kilt and jacket look great, by the way.

    All the Best

I went with the tartan bow tie as a compromise(with myself) instead of getting a ply plaid. and your right im entitled to my own choices! thanks for the compliment!

A sharp turn out for sure! I like the tartan - having a wee bit of MacPherson blood in me...maybe...hmmmm.....just maybe....I'll at least add it to my wish list.

Whoa! Your wedding isn't until June! 2012! Your two month jones will be nothing compared to 9 months. The jacket looks like it will fit you well, At least from your self shots. The kilt also looks to be a good fit. You won't have to worry about the dreaded gap between coatee and kilt. A very nice wedding outfit. I like the tartan as well. Very nice.
