    Phased

Elaine and myself had to have a meeting about a future charity gig we have been ask to do via a couple who we have only spoken to on the phone about it. We invited them over to our place to finalise things and say hello in person.
They are in their 50's and on arrival you could see the chaps wife totally phased that I was wearing a cilt. Neither of them commented on it, but the wife was totally uneasy or unsure of me. You could see her mind ticking over in her face. Everytime I got up to make a coffee or anything, she looked confused and stared at my cilt.
I had a great time .. was interesting to watch.

It's funny to see how some people behave when around a kilted man...sometimes.
The grass is greener on the other side of the fence...and it's usually greenest right above the septic tank.

Over here on this side of the pond where the kilt/cilt is a very foriegn idea to a lot of people I sometimes expect the glances and wondering looks. However, I suspect that the same reaction over on your side must be even more amusing. As Whidbey said it can (at times) be very entertaining to watch people's reactions, especially when confronted by something so out of the ordinary. I'll bet that was an interesting car ride home for that couple.

Now, it's not nice to tease the Normals (but it can be great fun ).

Good on you wearing the cilt. Pity on the lady who is so uptight (hippie legacy word, sorry), she could not take delight or at minimum, amusement in a kilted man.

Especially when she was a guest in that kilted man's own domicile.

I don't suppose kilt/cilt-wearing is particularly mainstream yet in your neck of the woods. It's not even here where it's supposed to be! Still you'd think she would put your unconventional dress down to artistic temperament - or maybe she was hoping for a quick flash.....
