This is my 27th USA Kilt - but my first Wool. Its Cameron Modern in 16 ounce strome from Lochcarron Mills. Two months ago Rocky had a "deal" on some extra fabric and I grabbed it. My 3 great grandmother Catherine Cameron married my 3 great grandfather John Macdonald and they emmigrated from Staffin, Skye to Cape Breton Island Nova Scotia in 1854. Wanted to honor her and my Cameron blood.

This is my first 5 yard wool kilt so its a new thing for me. Doesn't seem fair to compare it to a hand sewn kilt - so I won't. Biggest thing I noticed is that it's very light for a 16 ounce wool kilt, but doesn't take a genius to figure out why. It wears well and being lighter seems to have a bit more of that coveted "swish."

Workmanship is there as we've all learned to count on from Rocky. And the size was right on in the center hole of each kilt strap. The embossed kilt straps were new to me and a nice touch.

It "field tested" well hiking in the desert, and later in the supermarket.
