Using the Urinal Kilted
Using the urinal kilted has become a habit...no biggie...only downside is if the restroom is unheated on a cold day one releases the heat under the kilt.
What I've noticed is if I'm in the men's room alone, kilted at the urinal, and another guy enters the restroom they often seem to pause then go back outside, rather than join me at the line of urinals.
Some do, but not very many.
Others seem to pause, then enter a stall with a toilet instead of using the line of urinals.
Haven't made a formal study of this, but definately have noticed the various behaviors of "surprised" gents that enter after I'm at the urinal.
And on the opposite end. If there is a gentleman at the line of urinals and I stand up to one kilted the other guy seems to finish faster and often rush out of the restroom without pausing to wash up.
Again, not a formal survey...just what I've noticed.
For sure we're an unexpected surprise - just interesting to see how other men handle the situation.
Endeavoring to keep this thread clean and hope others will too...
What have other "kilted urinal users" noticed about the behavior of their fellow man?

Re: Using the Urinal Kilted
I found quickly that passing gas while peeing kilted is a form of suicide - heat rises - right up your nose.
No noticelable reaction from others - I'm concentrating.
Second thought, since I am normally wearing a Utilikilt, it is not that obvious that it is a kilt unless they are really observant, while I'm at the urinal. Could be mistaken for baggy shorts.

Re: Using the Urinal Kilted
I have noticed the trend using rest stops along I-5, in fact the wife ad/or family will often wait til I enter the building kilted just to see the exodus of others.

Re: Using the Urinal Kilted
I havent noticed any reactions in the stall, other than the normal "man in a kilt" looks. I will be payin attention to see if its different.

Re: Using the Urinal Kilted
Continuously kilted for two plus years, I no longer notice what I am wearing nor peoples reactions unless someone asks. I do notice when I wear p**ts to change the oil in my truck how uncomfortable I am.
I will try to remember to look around in new public facilities, out of curiosity now.
The ones I frequent locally are used to me now - no big deal.
Afterthought Riverkilt- Try this scenario. A man or woman sees someone in what they think is a skirt on a woman walk into the mens room from a distance. A guy would or a woman would send in a guy to warn the woman of her mistake. This could be a lot of the peek and runs.

Re: Using the Urinal Kilted
I spent a considerable time teaching my son how to wear his kilt at a urinal properly. I showed him how to hold the apron so the reverse pleat doesn't fall into the stream, and since I won't let him go reggie, he has to use the other hand to manipulate underpants, and for a 6-year-old it was rather complicated in comparison to the "drop trou, aim in general direction" rules he was accustomed to.
After this lesson, he was very proud that he "knew how to pee wearing a kilt" and told pretty much everyone at the highland games.
Fast-forward about 3 months, the Smurfs movie had came out, and I was casually kilted at the movie theatre with the family, my son sans kilt. My son and I went to the restroom, where there was a line against the opposing wall of gentleman waiting for their turn at the urinal. During my time up to the urinal, my son decided to proudly announce to the whole restroom...
"My dad is really good at peeing and wearing a kilt!"
The guffaws were at first stifled, but I at least had the decency to say "yes, yes I am", and that at least helped the other 2 dozen gentlemen to lower their guard and have a good laugh.
I was royally embarrassed, but it was such a cute "kid moment" that I couldn't be upset.
When he brings home his "nice girl" to meet the parents, I'll make sure to relay this little tale...

Re: Using the Urinal Kilted
I've never really noticed anything, one way or the other. I go, I go, then I leave. I just sort of figure that the other gents do the same. I'll try and pay attention next time.

Re: Using the Urinal Kilted
I'll have to pay closer attention in the future... Only special attention I've noticed at the urinals is a few times that other guys have come in to see that I'm just holding the kilt out, and made remarks to the effect of "I guess the rumors about what's under there are true!"
As for you individually, Riverkilt, if I walked into a bathroom, and the first thing I saw from behind was long hair and pleats, I know I'd at least double check that I was in the right room. And this is coming from a kilted guy who had long hair for years - here's me circa 2007

Re: Using the Urinal Kilted
I never noticed any reactions. Perhaps that's because I never really cared... I had one guy say to me once as I was standing at a urinal "I always wondered how you guys went in those things." I looked at him said "Usually I don't go in them. I prefer to use the sink."
