    My new Trinity Winter Kilt

I had my interest peaked by a recent thread considering the winter kilt model made by trinity kilts, and they recently held a sale for St. Patrick's day (it might still be going on). This will be just a few pictures to share and some initial impressions as it only arrived today.
First though, we need to look at speed of service. I am VERY impressed with how fast this company got my kilt to me. I ordered the kilt one week ago today, and add to that the fact that I requested it be made with a 2" size adjustability which required a custom order.
In the pictures I will warn you of a couple things; first when looking at the pleats I had taken the kilt out of the box only a couple of minutes before breaking out the camera so they could use a quick steam and second this is my first attempt at using the timer on this particular camera so I will try to add some better pictures of it being worn later.

The lining very easily zips in and out of the kilt. It's hard to see in the picture with the cat, which just can't handle there being a piece of clothing in the house that isn't covered in her scent, it is made up of two layers. I can only guess it will be quite effective at keeping me warm as I was starting to get a little toasty just wearing it for 15-20 minutes. The only other contemporary kilt in the house is my son's from Alt. Kilt and I can say the material this is made from is certainly lighter weight than what they use. The two rear pockets are quite deep as you can see by the fact that they can make a bottle of your beverage of choice disappear.

Awesome!! I've been thinking about buying one of these for work. Thanks for the pictures!

Yeah I hadn't expected it to arrive in time for St. Patricks having just ordered it last week with a custom request. It came down to this and a kilt they now offer made out of Carhartt material, but since I had never had a contemporary kilt before I decided to go with the less expensive of their two options and then if I'm happy may add the Carhartt to the future purchase list. Still have my eye on one of the beauties from Freedom Kilts, but the wife says that has to wait on a better paycheck coming my way on a regular basis.

Very cool - wear it in good health.

I was considering one of those specifically for winter wear. Does the interior zipper become annoying when you take out the liner, though?

Are the buttons just for aesthetics or are they functional? It is a little too bad that they have used a design feature of another kilt maker. I have an AltKilt with those very same buttons laid out in a similar pattern, AltKilt uses 6 instead of 4.

The smaller buttons that you see at the waist line are functional, and there is one extra functional button that you can't see from the outside of the kilt located about half way down the edge of the apron. The four larger buttons are purely decorative.
As far as the zipper it isn't an issue because it is covered up with a small strip of fabric that keeps it from getting in the way.
