Unconventional, but outstanding. I love the combination of the black and white sporran and the black and white brogues. Well done!

Very elegant-looking kilt and very handsome, well-balanced outfit. No wonder you attracted the ladies, even if they were a bit "culturally challenged".

I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Challenged or not, this old coot, is flattered to have his picture taken with anyone with a pulse. Your combination looks good in my eyes.

Re: out and about :Minneapolis
Thanks to you all
The brogues are Dr. Martens and I have been wearing them for 10+ years and have resoled them twice, I LOVE them. I didn't notice that the sporran matched, but so much the better. It's hard for me to find dress shoes that I can wear all day,not worry about scuffing and still run to catch a cab in.
I had my pic taken a couple of times this trip, thoes girls were the nicest in both looks and approach, but they did not leave me or my girl with the impression that they were going to be rocket scientists any time soon.
My girl took a pic of them and I as well ,so I could post it here and say something smart.I am always flattered that someone wants to take my photo,
but sometimes it's all about who it is and how they ask.
I know my style is not strictly traditonal but it's roots are,I normaly wouldn't wear diced hose for a night on the town, but it's damm cold in the upper midwest this time of year and that's the warmest hose I have.As for the argyll
it's on the formal side ,but it's my lady's favorite jacket and well she's the one
I was out with,so....I have to look good for her when we get back to the room .

I think you look great and it looks like a lot of fun was had. Love the two tone shoes too. I wish I could pull those off but they just don't work on me.

***. I've only seen those shoes with a kilt on one or two other guys, but I likey.
And I applaud the flatcap. I know there's a contingent that balks at them being worn with kilts, but I figure if I wore one pre-kilt, no reason not to continue.
Looks like you and Kaila had a great time! Too bad you couldn't make connections with any other X-markers. I love Minneapolis--if I could have taken the time and afforded the gas, I'd have drug my wife the 900 miles to join you.

We had a blast, ate and drank our way through downtown. There were 15 pubs
within 8 blocks of our hotel and we made it through 7 and then it was cab time It would've been great to meet up with some of the rabble but mid week is hard for people. We would've loved to have had the company,it was a good time.
Next time your in the midwest let me know int:

I grew up (physically) in Davenport, Iowa and my Mom still lives there. The twin cities, Chicago, and St. Louis were always great weekend trips. Next time we get back there I will make sure I set aside a few days to head north!
