Red X-Kilt - My First Sewing Project

Seriously, other than a few fix ups I have not sewn anything since my grade 7 Home Economics class (it was a pencil case).

I posted once while I was making it asking for some advice and then I finished it and never took a picture...

If I was to make another I'd make the apron bigger, I prefer the look of a larger apron. Also, that would give me more leeway when it came time to finish the kilt if I was off on my sewing by a little too much (like I was on this one) because I could just shrink the apron to fit instead of having to re-do the fell.

As for size, I didn't want to make it as long as a trad kilt is supposed to be (for me that ~29"), but I also didn't want it as short as my Utilikilt (24.5"). I ended up with a 25.5" drop.

Overall sizing for the X-kilt is 39" Waist, 47" Hip, 8" Fell, 25.5" Drop with a 9" Front Apron and 13 - 3" box pleats. It's made out of a red medium poly-cotton and I left the selvedge for the bottom hem.
