Scottish Tartan Register Compromised By Malware?
No, I assure you this is not an attempt at being humorous. I receive my new tartan updates from the register in the middle of the night California time and review them in the morning. Today as soon as I opened my email and clicked the link Google reported that the site was compromised.
Here is the text: www.tartanregister.gov.uk contains content from xinthesidersdown.com, a site known to distribute malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site.
Google has found malicious software may be installed onto your computer if you proceed. If you've visited this site in the past or you trust this site, it's possible that it has just recently been compromised by a hacker. You should not proceed, and perhaps try again tomorrow or go somewhere else.
Does anyone have further information on this? Or if anyone here who has an affiliation with the Register wants to let them know it might be good. Any VERIFIED info I would be most grateful for.
