    Creativity.......

Something I've noticed regarding this and related boards, is the influence of things artistic on the membership. Is there a relationship between the creative area of the brain (the right side?) and ones appreciation of the kilt? A look at the creative aspect of the folks here is interesting. I'm involved with the design of buildings, others are into theater, music, advertising, woodworking, etc., etc. I'm probably way off the mark with this, but I thought it was an interesting observation, nonetheless.

    art or artiste

    Hi Blu,
I agree to a degree (thats almost poetic )
I've noticed the music link and also a lot of people here seem to be outdoors men, hikers bikers and such.
I've seen posts from folk who regularly ride in kilts, and heres me thinking I'd be a novelty .
I wouldn't recommend it tho' I've been skinned wearing leathers when I've come off.
There's one thing that links all of us, the confidence to go against the grain and not only make folk accept it but wish they could be like it.

Yah, your right, Rhino.... There is defintely a risk taking component to the equation as well. It strikes me that there is a convergence of influences at work here. Are we then predisposed in some way to kilts?

Blu, making the move from trousers to kiltwearing is in itself an indication of creative thinking, so it's no wonder that such creativity is manifested in other ways among kiltwearers!

I wouldn’t say your way off mark Blu.
I am a major left brain person who loves math, logic, and science.
Yet I have seen my creative side take off, especially when I have worn or recently worn my kilt.
I think Graham has a point; to go against the grain is by definition a creative act.

There is a nifty website that discusses the Right vs. Left brain dominance topic. For anyone interested, here is the link.

Almost everyone has influence from one side of the brain greater that the other. (I'm slightly right dominant BTW). Whichever, I'm being influenced right now to wear my kilt. 8)

I've just done the test and I'm very Left dominated but then I'm not really creative at all.

I think that means you use both sides equally
