My First Bear Kilt
I picked up my Black Watch from Bear yesterday morning and I have been wearing it. It is so Comfortable and I don't think I can live without it. The Workmanship is excellent, and the fit is amazing.
My wife loves it and even my 5 year old son wants one now.
LOVE IT!!!

Be careful, they are addictive!
You'll find the tartan is very tough too, I've just washed mine for the first time since it arrived last November. They never seem to look dirty.
Did you get a 4 or 8 yard?

Your kilt looked great bcmtnbka. There is something nice about the feel of the poly/viscose tartans. Bear really does do a great job.
It would seem that you have a future photographer on your hands there as well. I'm sure your camera has a photo of every kid at the parade. You have a great son there. Will he soon be kilted like this dad?

If my boy has his wish granted, he would be kilted tomorrow. For the whole day, he kept saying that he wants a BearKilt. Yet, He never whined for a utilikilt, only a Bear Kilt.
Colin, did Bear make that kilt for your son?

No, we bought my son his kilt before I even knew about Bear kilts. We bought it from a local shop near our place. The only reason I bought my Black Watch kilt was because that was what we had bought our son. Otherwise I would be in the Maple Leaf of PEI tartan right now.
I will look at getting him a clan tartan kilt in awhile.

Kilted
One of the funnier things on parade day was bcmtnbka putting on his kilt, slipping off his shorts, and unceremoniously tossing them in a twenty foot arc that ended in a huge construction dumpster.
Cub started laughing and that got us all going.

Hey bcmtnbka So glad to see you in your new Bear Kilt. Not that there is anything wrong with your Utilakilt, it's just nice to have us all in Bear Kilts! I think your Son will look good in a Bear Kilt as well. I bet you can't wait for your Son to be old enough to join us all for Kilt Night. Still a number of years before that happens but one can have hope can't he. Well you do have a great little guy there and he seams to be pretty out going which makes a great Kilt wearer!
I look forward to seeing you out in your Bear Kilt at the next Kilt Night. I will have to miss the April one, but I will be here for the May Kilt Night for sure.

I too have to miss Apri.
We will have to make May 1st a huge night for two reasons 1) the virtual Hamish pub crawl, and 2) Vic, one of our kilts night regulars, is likely moving to Costa Rica at the end of May. I will try to send out a ton of emails to local shops, pipebands, etc.
I am going to try and get the local Celtic newspaper out for the night as well.

Hey Colin I agree we will have to make this the biggest Kilt Night ever in the history of Vancouver. Emails to everyone and allot of forcing people to come out for it. I am sure if we start now we can get tons of people out for the event. As for Vic moving to Costa Rica, it is happening for sure so we will have to make this the best Kilted good-bye for him so he will know what he is going to miss out on!
