Has anyone managed to buy a vest from this guy?

I have twice tried to purchase a vest from the NewJerseyPiper.com website:

    http://www.newjerseypiper.com/vests.html

A couple of years ago, I tried to buy one, but couldn't get the site to accept my Canadian shipping address. Shortly afterwards, the ownership of the site apparently changed. Two or three weeks ago, knowing that the site was allegedly under new management, I tried again to buy a vest here. I made the payment by Paypal, the only payment option now offered. A couple of days later, my payment was refunded with the message that the vest in the colour and size (40-42) I ordered was out of stock for the foreseeable future. I would have been quite willing to select another colour, but, unfortunately, there appears to be no way to determine prior to making payment whether or not a given colour, size or style of vest is available. This information is not provided on the website and there is no contact link. I'm just curious as to whether this guy ever actually sells one and whether my experience with him is unique.

I'm not out of pocket and the refund of my payment was prompt, so I'm not alleging any shady dealing. It's just that it has been frustrating to try to buy from this site. I was initially interested in assessing the quality of the vests with a view to ordering for my pipe band. We have since acquired our vests elsewhere.

I ordered a vest about six months ago. The turnaround was prompt but the vest was a bit more snug than I had anticipated. Since I specified non standard buttons, which they accommodated, I held on to it hoping to lose a few pounds in the near future.

I have bought 3 vests from him so far, all at different times, and will be getting a 4th shortly. I have had no trouble, the service has been fine as is the product. Are you sure there is no phone number as I am sure that I have spoken to him by phone when ordering in the past. In fact, the vest I am wearing in my avatar pic above is from him.
I just checked his site. If you click on "about us" you will see a telephone number near the bottom of the page.

Okay, thanks for replies. I'll maybe try the phone number. It's good to know that the vests are of good quality.

Thanks for that info, Zardoz. I did try to contact NewJerseyPiper about ten days ago using the email link on the website, but have received no reply. I was going to try the telephone number next, but I don't think I'll bother now. As for buttons, I already have a good-sized collection of suitable ones.

I recently made a purchase from New Jersey Piper. The item arrived within about a week and I was pleased with the prompt service. As it turned out, the vest was not what I had been looking for, but I had no trouble returning it and getting a full refund. To me, the entire experience was good.
