    Tattersail?

Is this a tattersall pattern? This shirt is short-sleeved and looks like this. I have worn it both kilted and trousered on several occasions.

Just curious about the style of the pattern. Thanks.

Bren , I am afraid not. Incidentally it's Tattersall not Tattersail. A Tattersall shirt is indeed small checks but normally in two or more colours . Pretty much like this -

Usually lighter with the stripes of different colours going in different directions.

    Interesting "origin story" here:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tattersall_(cloth)
"It's all the same to me, war or peace,
I'm killed in the war or hung during peace."

Further info to Dale's post above can be found here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tattersalls .

There is still a Tattersall enclosure on most if not all of Britain and Ireland's horse racing venues.
