Is this kilt too orange?
Many years ago I made this kilt in MacLean of Duart Ancient. People who see it, tend to react that it's too orange. So.. since tomorrow is Halloween and I happened to have a little pumpkin in the house, I thought I'd see if it really does look too orange, in comparison.
What do you think?

I like it. I think the other colors tend to mute the orange a bit. It looks like the autumn of the year.

I think it looks great. Of course, being a member of Clan MacLean myself, I may have a bit of personal bias...

My daughter-in-law would absolutely love! Orange is absolutely her favorite color! How orange is too orange? It depends upon your taste. A red in modern tartan becomes orange in ancient. It is perfect for what it is - ancient red. My tartan has red in the modern ahnd orange in the ancient. Either way, it looks fabulous with the gold, green, blue, black, and fuchsia. It goes with the other colors in the tartan, so it isn't too orange. However, ancient MacLean is an absolutely fabulous tartan for the fall, especially Halloween. Modern MacLean is absolutely fabulous for winter, especially Christmas.

Bonnie,
As one who wears an Ancient Dunbar kit...the short answer is "No". One can not have too much orange
