Is this kilt too orange?
Many years ago I made this kilt in MacLean of Duart Ancient. People who see it, tend to react that it's too orange. So.. since tomorrow is Halloween and I happened to have a little pumpkin in the house, I thought I'd see if it really does look too orange, in comparison.
What do you think?

I like it. I think the other colors tend to mute the orange a bit. It looks like the autumn of the year.

I think it looks great. Of course, being a member of Clan MacLean myself, I may have a bit of personal bias...

Bonnie, that is a beautiful tartan; the red/orange is very dominate so the person wearing it would certainly be noticed. Very Autumn like colors but not really pumpkin'y. I agree with Kennedy, the tartan looks like it's in the ancient and not the modern colors. Now, if the kilt glowed in the dark then I'd say it was too orange.

Simon Fraser fought as MacShimidh, a Highland chief… wrapped and belted in a plaid over the top of his linen shirt, like his ordinary kinsmen. He put a bonnet on his head, and stuck the Fraser emblem, a sprig of yew, in it. With the battle cry, A'Chaisteal Dhunaidh and the scream of the pipes, they charged to battle. There's no such thing as "too orange".

See what I mean.
I changed my signature. The old one was too ridiculous.

Bonnie - Some say Orange is the color of joy and creativity. Orange promotes a sense of general wellness and emotional energy that should be shared, such as compassion, passion, and warmth. Orange will help a person recover from disappointments, a wounded heart, or a blow to one’s pride.
Happy Halloween!
